One of our more recent customers is involved in the imaging of live cells using specific wavelength laser light.
Lytestyle Designs was tasked with providing a solution to control the power of a laser diode via a digital interface. The customer was already familiar with using the Arduino Nano so we provided an interface board to plug into the Nano. This was then linked via a cable loom to a seperate PCB to drive the customer specified laser diode to varying power levels.
We provided the schematic design and PCB layout for the PCBs and also provided some sample test code on the Arduino Nano to drive the laser to different powers.
As the output power function was not linear, this was characterised, with tolerances, so that compensation could be added to the controlling software.
We worked with the customer post-production to provide solutions to any teething problems and to modify PCBs for different power levels.
